In 2004, four nonprofit senior living alliances looked at the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) industry and saw a business built for the GPO, not the member. So, they built their own — small staff, national contracts, and measure success by the value delivered back to members.
Two decades on, APN is owned by three nonprofit alliances, managed by Covenant Health Network, and has returned more than $32 million to the communities that earned it.
Most GPOs sign every vendor in a category. That maximizes the fees the GPO collects, but vendors won’t offer deep discounts when their competitors sit in the same tent. APN limits number of partners in a single category — judged on price, quality, and service. They work to earn your business and you get a partner no single community could get alone.
Vetting goes beyond a price sheet. Every partner has to share the mission of the Alliance and value the importance of resident's quality of life. It's important that we all succeed-Member communities, vendor partners, and APN.
A small staff, a dedicated board, and no shareholders. Every decision gets one test — does it benefit members? If so, we act on behalf of our members.
The network grows around what members ask for. Is there a void in our offerings? We’ll research them, vet them, and — if they hold up — bring them in.
APN's complementary savings analysis. Send us your accounts-payable file; we check every line against our contracts and send back a clear report: what you’d save, what would come back in rebates, and where to start.
Results in about two weeks. No cost, no obligation — whether or not you join.
Strategic help from people who work in senior living every day. Recent questions we’ve worked: where AI should actually start in a building, which MDS scrubber fits a 120-bed community, how to make a remodel robot-ready.
Part of the mission. Never billed.
Your team is busy running a community. Send us the legwork instead — three quotes on laundry chemicals, research on fall-prevention options, a delivery problem that needs to go away — and get back to your day.
Every request answered within one business day.
